The Head of the Plant Operations is expected to launch star-up manufacturing operations center in Japan (manufacturing plant is less than 30 minutes to main Tokyo areas). This plant operations will comprise Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Logistics and overall office management. You will be expected to provide strategic leadership and oversight at Country level working closely with other Plant Operations General Managers in Asian, European and American sites as well as supporting the aggressive commercial business growth in Japan.
Some brief stats:
- Build out and hire staff (40-50 employees) within the 1st year or so.
- Finalize building location, overall management of design and build-out, and set-up of all necessary systems and structures.
- Hire and train management team and employees, transfer technology, develop culture, meet key performance criteria around quality, lead-times, cost, etc.
- Overtime maintain plant operations in support of the expanding business needs and potentially expand the plant structures in Japan

- Over 10-15 years of experience in Manufacturing, Technology Transfer, and/or Supply, with at least 7 years in a management capacity in a manufacturing industry especially medical devices or related technology equipment.
- Education in Engineering, Production Management, or related technical field. Ideally, candidate will possess MBA or equivalent training.
- Experience managing complex supply chains and manufacturing processes with proven leadership developing and delivering business value.
- Experience dealing with regulatory bodies and agencies is critical.
- Fluent in both Japanese and English
- Superior communication, presentation, financial/P&L, negotiation, and problem-solving/analytical skills.
