Research Analyst（Equity) at Foreign AM firm

Research Analyst to work as a key member of Japan Equities team. Research Analyst will be responsible to cover a wide-range of sectors across all market cap spectrum from small cap to large cap. Our investment approach is a bottom-up stock picking. Therefore, intensive company visits, active idea generation, proactive recommendation and follow-ups are required to accomplish this role. As the team size is small, the portfolio management support and investment related reporting and/or administration would be a part of the responsibilities.

The main responsibilities are as below:
1. Coverage of a wide-range of sectors: sector analysis, recommendation of the high conviction stocks within the responsible sectors
2. Stock reports: An analyst writes stock reports/notes of the companies s/he recommends in English with investment thesis, 3+ year-earnings estimates/models and valuation rationale.
3. Stock recommendation: An analysts presents his/her high conviction stock to the team members in Tokyo and New York.
4. Global collaboration: An investment professional participates the global equity calls, industry cluster calls to exchange the ideas.
5. Portfolio management support: Portfolio management support such as order placement, and other investment related administrative support may be required.

 Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in related disciplines
 Minimum 2 years of experience in Japanese equities with research background
 A wide-range of sector knowledge or/and experience are preferred
 Small and Mid-cap experience are preferred, but not required
 Preferred professional certifications in CMA or CFA
 Excellent computer skills with practical experience of MS Excel
 Native level Japanese with a good command of written and verbal English, as the weekly meetings and other global collaboration calls are held in English.

 Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task, proactive and independent
 Ability to effectively cooperate with other members of a small-size team
