Global HF is an investment firm implementing a market neutral equity strategy, focused on the global Health Care and Technology sectors.

Investment Analyst will work with Portfolio Managers to research investment ideas, utilizing a fundamental bottoms-up approach to stock selection in a market neutral context. Using fundamental research, our Research Analysts inform the investment strategies of our Portfolio Managers.

What you’ll do
You’ll apply your financial acumen and curiosity to help shape your team’s investment strategies. Using comprehensive research you’ve conducted on companies, industries, and sectors, you’ll build financial models and investment theses. You will never stop learning, whether you’re honing your idea generation skills or applying insights from alternative data analysis. More specifically, you will:

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct differentiated, bottoms-up fundamental analysis of companies, business models, relevant industry metrics and industries, becoming a go-to expert on a sub-sector of companies • Perform detailed valuation, and construct in-depth company financial models in Excel
• Synthesize, communicate, and present long and short investment ideas to the Global Equities Portfolio Manager
• Actively participate in quarterly earnings calls and monitor material news events related to companies under coverage
• Attend industry conferences and management meetings (includes travel)
• Identify and analyze relevant industry metrics
• Evaluate new coverage opportunities

Skillset Requirements:
• Approx 3-5 years long-only and/or sell-side research experience covering Japanese auto and/or industrial and/or tech supply chain sectors
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in finance, economics, engineering and/or computer science
• Passion for fundamental analysis and public markets investing
• Advanced understanding of accounting/financial statements
• Valuation experience and excellent Excel modeling skills
• Excellent financial modeling, communication, and technical skills
• Intellectual maturity, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Extremely intellectually curious and a ceaseless desire to learn
