Job Description
An American pharmaceutical company with strong international presence is currently looking for a General Counsel to build the new legal team.
The company is one of the top #10 pharmaceutical companies in the world by revenue and has more than 50,000 employees around the world.
The successful candidate will provide broad legal counsel and general legal guidance at the senior management team level and also at operational team level for all the company. This is an exciting leadership role with country and regional level exposure. The successful candidate will work with the company senior leadership team to be the lead voice on all legal matters.
The new General Counsel must be build his new team formed at least with two other legal members.
Requirements
Education and Credentials:
- JD, LLB or equivalent law degree
- Qualified to practice law in Japan preferred
- Fluent in both Japanese and English
- Minimum 10-15 years PQE - candidates with in-house life sciences experience is preferred
- Experience working in multi-national corporations, ideally with experience doing legal work in the life science industries preferred
- Broad commercial and corporate experience, ideally advising senior leaders of business units or functions
