Job description

• Manager, Institutional Business Division reports to the Head of Institutional Business Division will make a direct contribution to developing and achieving the success of AMPC’s institutional strategy in Japan.
• In addition, the role is directly involved in the product placement with MUTB pension, development of strong product technical knowledge and the provision of client servicing & issues resolutions
Main focus areas
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
• Assist in the product placement of new capability and products with MUFG: Trust Bank and other pension asset managers or distributors while at the same time complying with AMPCI policies and ensuring compliance with regulatory conditions
• Assist with developing, maintaining and strengthening relationships with Institutional clients, not limited to MUFG: Trust Bank, working closely with the Sales team
• Assist with developing strong product specialist knowledge and expertise on all products distributed within the institutional channel and utilizing this knowledge to respond to all queries in the first instance
• Collaborate with the Sales team including participating in client visits as product technical specialists as required required
• Provide the delivery of accurate translation, tailored client specific reports, ad hoc market commentary, and analysis in a timely manner to clients and external/internal stakeholders for pension funds. In doing so, liaise and interact with relevant stakeholders proactively and provide correct and prompt response to queries on deliverables and resolve client issues for all Pension clients
• Directly involved with the translating and response to RFP/RFI for new and existing mandates and consultants when required
• Assist in materials required for Institutional sales campaigns to support promotion and sales of AMP Capital product offerings to Institutional intermediaries and distributors
• Assist with planning and organizing promotional events, seminars, roadshows, due diligence visits, and other travels to and from international offices.
• Responsible for the delivery of excellence in servicing for the institutional clients across both pension and financial institutional segments
• Assist with presenting client reviews and fund updates as required
• Keep abreast of competitors in the market place and provide market intelligence on their activities including new funds launched, fund raised, fund profile, etc.
• Liaise, interact and build strong relationships with stakeholders including Portfolio Managers, Business Development Managers, Client Services, etc. across AMP Capital to provide high quality solutions and ensure optimum output to Institutional clients


• Minimum of 5 year experience in funds management / investment markets
• Educational qualifications in a business related field
• Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and coordinate effort to meet agreed deadlines
• Understanding of Japanese financial industry requirements and practices
• Investment knowledge and understanding of a broad range of asset classes
• Good knowledge of the Japanese & International funds management industry, including industry issues, trends, investment products and processes
• Well-developed sales / client servicing background in keeping with Japanese client standards
